I made myself a very tasy Chicken, onion and dried tomato sandwich today.

The other day I had an also very tasty sausage sandwich (Just sausages and brown sauce.  Very good).

I need more variety though.  Anyone had a good sandwich recently?

I thought that was what "Ask <website>" means.

However, it did spur me on to devise SarnieML (or Sarn-EML if you prefer). Yes, an XML schema to describe the bread, spread, fillings etc. for a sandwich. It's the future.

Cheese and onion. None of this namby pamby little bits of onion either - great thick slabs of raw onion, enough to make you cry as you are eating it, on top of huge doorstep slabs of mature cheddar.

Classy, I know.

It's pepper and egg season. by garlic (4.00 / 1) #12 Tue Mar 13, 2007 at 01:00:11 PM EST
pepper, scrambled egg, with baked provolone cheese on top and a nice maranara sauce for dipping.

Here's how it works. by ni (4.00 / 1) #13 Tue Mar 13, 2007 at 02:33:23 PM EST
Take some slivers of onion, some red bell peppers and some good mushrooms. Fry them in olive oil until tender. Put aside and cover. Fry several mashed cloves of garlic briefly in about 4 tbsp extra virgin olive oil. Remove garlic. Take two pieces of good bread and fry in the oil until there's a crispy brown later on the surface. You'll probably need to flip the bread quickly at the start to prevent one side from soaking up all the oil.

Spread a good mustard over each piece of bread and salt and pepper (freshly ground man! We are not animals!) it. Layer on thinly sliced pickles, the previously cooked vegetables and some hot pepper rings. Top with the remaining piece of bread.

I lived on these when I was vegan. They're not great for you, and no one will ever use words like "subtle" or "nuanced" to describe their flavor, but they are incredible, astonishingly good. Serve alongside french fries for a deeply satisfying lunch.

homemade strombolis lately. I know that's pushing the definition of a "sandwich".

Also, a fried egg sandwich on homemade wheat roll. The secret is to break the yolks as you put the eggs on the roll and spread them around, then add some hot sauce and cheddar cheese.

Turkey breast, honey mustard, a light piece of Provolone (optional), and leaf of lettuce in a good croissant.

Second is a "Thai" Veggie Burger.
Sauted peppers, melted habanro jack, garden burger patty, & red thai curry on a toasted bun.
